My September 2 Google News Alert for "no child left behind."

Ten stories from Main Street media across America - Not the New York or LA Times, but reporting that reflect the rest of the country. The results: one story tending to view NCLB in a positive light, two neutral reports on AYP, seven negative stories on different aspects of the law.

The sample would not pass a What Works Clearinghouse review, but
I get these alerts regularly and this has been the norm for months.

With all the other evidence of opposition to NCLB accountability noted by edbizbuzz, the question becomes, how low will it go in the reauthorization? And at what point does this downward sloping curve really impact demand for school improvement services?  Any analysis of this would be welcomed - and cited here.
